TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh Press Conference

  1. The TDP is known as the birthplace of BCs, and has always been a financial and political supporter of BCs since the beginning of the party.
  2. NTR, the founder of TDP, showed great importance to BCs and gave them a 24% reservation in local body elections. Later, Nara Chandrababu Naidu increased the reservations to 34%, considering BCs as the backbone of TDP.
  3. In both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, there’s an effort to increase seats for BCs.
  4. CBN has already made this decision.Once in power, we plan to remove 217 Government Orders affecting fishermen. It’s a clear part of our plan, and we’re committed to making it happen. Additionally, we’ve supported and encouraged 54 communities.
  5. During Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, 36,000 crores were given under the BC Sub Plan. Additionally, 3,000 crores were provided as subsidy loans to 420,000 BC individuals during the TDP regime. Another 1,000 crore rupees were allocated to BCs under the Adharana scheme.
  6. The YSRCP government has eliminated 27 Dalit welfare schemes. There’s been a lack of community development efforts during this administration. On my end, I’ve actively shared selfies and posts showcasing these initiatives.
  7. During the TDP regime from 2014 to 2019, several social welfare schemes were introduced for BCs, including access to quality schools, Videsi Vidya, Pelli Kanuka, and PG fee reimbursement.
  8. After YSRCP came into power in 2019, many members of the Backward Classes (BCs) have reported being mistreated and persecuted. Some BC individuals have been killed and their voices have been suppressed. In addition, the YSRCP government has reduced the BC reservations in local body elections from 10% to a lower percentage. Consequently, around 16,000 people from the BC community have lost the opportunity to contest in the elections.
  9. During our regime, the TTD chairman belonged to the BC community. Through the Babu Surity Bhavishathyu guarantee program, both TDP and Janasena are collaborating closely. This collaboration signifies our commitment to prioritizing BC individuals in our administration.
  10. The YSRCP Government has cancelled many BC welfare schemes and taken 8000 acres of assigned lands from the BC community. Although the YSRCP Government has established 56 BC corporations for publicity, no funds have been given to them. Moreover, the Government has failed to pay salaries to the Chairmen of the BC Corporations.
  11. – Starting from January 4, the TDP party has planned a two-month program called ‘Jayaho BC’ to create awareness among the Backward Classes (BCs) about the injustices done to them during the YSRCP regime. The first phase of the program includes visits to Parliament, assembly constituencies, and mandals to understand the difficulties faced by the BCs. A massive public meeting will be held at the state level, followed by the release of a special manifesto for the BCs. The objective of the program is to raise awareness and support for the BCs and address their concerns.
  12. YSRCP has been given GO 217 and has broken the backbone of fishermen. This government is not in a position to give at least a subsidy to silk farmers. Illegal cases have been filed against TDP leadership fighting on behalf of BC brothers. Illegal cases have been filed against all BC leaders who are joining TDP. Illegal cases have been filed against Yanamala, Ayyanna, Kollu Ravindra, and Atchannaidu. BCs are a permanent caste; certificates will be provided to BCs. A special fund will be set up for BC sub-castes and spent on them
