The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) announced the launch of the BhashaNet portal at the Universal Acceptance Day here today. The theme of the event, ‘BhashaNet: Momentum Towards Universal Acceptance’, highlighted MeitY/NIX’s unwavering commitment to ensure that everyone can fully participate in the digital world, regardless of language or text barriers. The event featured engaging panel discussions and workshops where representatives from Bhashin, ONDC, NIC, C-DAC Microsoft, ICANN UASG, Data Xgen, Infibeam, ZOHO and FICCI shared insights and best practices for universal adoption readiness. These sessions aimed to empower participants and the community as a whole to make applications and systems compatible with universal acceptance.India’s successful regional Global Acceptance Day paves the way for the next Global Acceptance Day scheduled for March 28, 2024.
