One Helicopter Unit has been inducted at Air Force Station, Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, in a recent redeployment of assets of the Indian Air Force. The induction would ensure availability of sufficient resources with the Southern Air Command to enhance operational capabilities as well as meet the peacetime tasks of Search & Rescue, Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief and Casualty evacuation.
